Store sign, Gran Mercado, 416 South El Paso Street

Vintage sign, Gran Mercado, 416 South El Paso Street. This sign likely dates back to the 1930s. The portion in yellow has been painted over many times, but the top, remains virtually untouched. Photo taken October 11, 2006.

I wish there was something in place to help preserve signs like this, once they're retired from use. Whatever happened to the sign from the El Camino on Alameda, the one with the matador? Was that even the name of the place?
